The history of RoboServer Systems goes back to 2004 when the company entered the self-service technologies business. The initial focus was on providing self-service kiosks to restaurants, particularly fast-food operations as well as traditional restaurants that could use self-order kiosks to accommodate take-out orders. These self-order systems required integration of the kiosks with the overall business operations, including the manager's office. From self-ordering kiosks, RoboServer developed software solutions for customer self-payment using credit cards and debit cards. This required further integration into the established business practices and information flow of clients' business locations. RoboServer then expanded the capabilities of its software to include Point of Sale (P.O.S.) such that a kiosk supports key cash-register functions, including payment processing of cash and checks, as well as bankcards.
In 2008, RoboServer System Corp. began offering the dual touchscreen Assisted Server that allows customers to self-serve, or watch their orders onscreen while data is entered by the employee using the other touch screen, or self-serve with assistance from the employee behind the counter. RoboServer designed, developed, and produced this breakthrough dual screen technology.
In response to market opportunities in the government sector, RoboServer developed enhanced system capabilities to support a wide range of kiosk-based services: customer payment of bills, fees, and fines; customer applications for licenses, permits, and services; and customer information services, including services requiring secure remote authorized access to customer account information.
